Rest up and take in these business travel tips when staying at the Comfort Suites Saskatoon hotel.

As any office worker or executive knows, sitting for hours on end is not only bad for your posture, it can make you go stir crazy. The same could be said about business travel. From travelling from town to town visiting with clients, to hours spent waiting in traffic jams or airport lineups, to burning the midnight oil to finish that meeting agenda or preparing workshop notes, it can leave our brains and bodies feeling drained of energy. The Comfort Suites Saskatoon hotel is all about making our guests, whether visiting for business or leisure, feel well rested. Comfort is in our name, after all. Here we offer some tips to help make your business trip feel as if you are on vacation:

Up in the Air

If you are travelling by air to the city of Saskatoon and want to avoid long waits and traffic snarls, it helps to look for hotels near the airport. Not only will your head hit the pillow that much sooner if arriving late, you’ll be able to sneak in a few extra winks before catching your flight home. The Comfort Suites is one of the closest hotels near Saskatoon’s airport, with it only being a 7-minute drive from the airport terminal to our front door.

On the Road

While downtown Saskatoon is a great place to visit, you may want to avoid staying there when on business. The city’s core is connected by a number of bridges, with the recent construction of the new Traffic Bridge and the Chief Mistawasis Bridge. While this has greatly improved the city’s infrastructure, traversing the South Saskatchewan River can still sometimes lead to traffic jams. To avoid the hassle, it helps to look for hotels in Saskatoon that are near the main highways but away from dense traffic areas. The Comfort Suites is not only one of the Saskatoon hotels close to the airport, but it is also located just north of the Central Business District in between Highways 16 (Yellowhead) and 11 (Louis Riel Trail), making it an easy escape route to get in and out of the city.

At the Hotel

Not only is it important to be well rested while on a business trip, it’s also just as important to make sure you are getting proper exercise. If you find yourself waking up early or coming in late after a day of business meetings, a workout may be just what the doctor ordered. The Comfort Suites is one of the few Saskatoon hotels with a gym that is open 24 hours. Not only that, our indoor swimming pool is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with limited waterslide hours during the week so that you can swim a few laps without interruption. After your workout, a dip in the hot tub is guaranteed to relieve any aching muscles and other stress-related ailments.

On the Town

All work and no play can prove to be detrimental when it comes to being proactive. That’s why it’s important to make time for some exploring. Saskatoon is home to numerous attractions and sites, one of which is located just a few minutes drive from our Saskatoon hotel. Wanuskewin Heritage Park, which sits just above Opimihaw Creek and the South Saskatchewan River, is known for its archaeological finds, some of which pre-date ancient Egypt. It is also a great place to learn about the area’s indigenous population, go for a leisurely walk, look at the numerous displays, and enjoy a meal in the centre’s restaurant, offering First Nations-inspired cuisine.

Don’t Forget Breakfast

While keeping active is one way to bring up your energy level, so is making sure you eat nutritious foods. Instead of relying on fast foods, start your day right with a full breakfast that offers the necessary proteins, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. The Comfort Suites is one of the Saskatoon hotels with breakfast included as part of your stay. Our complimentary breakfast buffet includes:

  • Juice, coffee and tea
  • Eggs
  • Breakfast bacon or sausage
  • Fresh pastries
  • Fruit
  • Yogurt
  • Cereal
